About the region
Our main offices and facilities in Sweden are located in the southern part of the country in the city of Lund. Lund is part of Skåne county, which is situated just 25 minutes from Copenhagen, Denmark. Working in Lund you will be a part of the vibrant Öresund region. The region is known for its fantastic scenery, culinary experiences and high quality of life.
The Öresund region – key facts
- Öresund region consist of Skåne and the eastern part of Denmark.
- The two largest cities in the region are Copenhagen in Denmark and Malmö in Sweden.
- Linking the major cities in Skåne with Denmark is the iconic Öresund Bridge, stretching 16km across the strait. On a clear day you can see Denmark from Sweden.
- About 4 million people live in the region.

Lund
Lund is one of the oldest cities in Sweden with a rich history dating back to around 990 AD. The city has a beautiful cathedral in the city centre, surrounded by vibrant shops, museums, cafés and restaurants. Lund is also home to the world-famous MAX IV research facility, which will be the brightest X-ray source in the world when completed.
The university has a strong influence on Lund as its 40,000+ students create a unique atmosphere in the city. Students arrange a four-day carnival in Lund every four years that attracts people from all over the region.
- The city has around 124,000 residents.

Malmö
Malmö has transformed from an industrial city into a vibrant international hub with its own beach and famous landmark buildings such as the Turning Torso.
- Malmö has 350,000 residents.
- Malmö is a multicultural city with an exciting food scene – from Michelin star restaurants to its signature dish – Falafel. Malmö also has a vibrant music scene with its own opera house, concert halls and many music clubs.
- A large city centre with many restaurants and shops.
- Easy rail access to Copenhagen and Copenhagen Airport.
- A popular activity for locals is to take a cold-water swim at Kallbadhuset located by the beach in Malmö. It makes for a refreshing start to the day!

Airport and public transportation
Good public transportation and short distances make it possible to live in either Malmö or Copenhagen and easily commute to Lund.

- Copenhagen Airport is easily accessible by train with its own train station.
- Long distance trains to Europe and other parts of Sweden leave on a daily basis from Copenhagen, Lund and Malmö. See the website of Sweden’s train operator – www.sj.se.
- Bike rental is an excellent way to get around both Lund and Malmö, which are relatively small cities that are well adapted to walking and cycling. If you don’t own a bike, there are several bike rental stations in Lund and Malmö.
